The material of “Honeyrial” , Paper Honeycomb

The honeycomb structure has been developed within the aviation industry to materialize both lightness and strength, and has been used to design the American military airplanes in 1949.

By making this structure with “paper,” it can be made even lighter, which resulted in the birth of paper honeycomb cardboard, which is environmentally friendly.

Its structure provides strength especially to pressure from top and bottom, and a paper honeycomb cardboard with thickness of 30 mm can demonstrate a load-bearing strength of 30,000 kgf/m2 (in terms of uniformly-distributed load).

Kanda Industrials have called this paper honeycomb cardboard as “honey-rial board,” and have developed various products with it.

Emergency Room made of Honeycomb Cardboard

Our emergency room made of honeycomb cardboard is extremely lightweight and robust. It is also very easy to transport and to store.

The room can be assembled by three adults without any specialized tools or expertise.

-2016 KUMAMOTO EARTHQUAKE-

On June 24th, we installed an assembly-type Emergency room made from honeycomb cardboard panels at the Uki City Martial Arts Stadium, which serves as an evacuation center in Uki City in Kumamoto Prefecture.
